Electrical Commercial

Completing the Electrical Residential Program of 360 hours and 4000 paid on the job training hours is a prerequisite for this program. Electricians are among the highest paid in the construction industry according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Electrical Apprentices must register with the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, and complete an additional 4000 hours of paid on the job training as a licensed apprentice, and complete the required classroom instruction of 360 hours to take the state Commercial Journeyman Exam.

  • Blueprint reading
  • Building and electrical codes from NEC
  • Electrical theory and Electrical circuits
  • Designing, Installing, Servicing of Electrical systems
  • Conduit bending, Raceways-Fittings
  • Motors: Theory, Application, and Controls
  • Grounding and Bonding
  • Transformers, Load calculations
  • Specialized Electrical Systems
