Certified Pharmacy Technicians play an integral role in supporting Pharmacists in all settings, including community pharmacy, hospitals and health-systems, and long-term care pharmacy. Today's medication-use systems rely heavily on pharmacy technicians. Pharmacy Technician students must complete 180 externship hours, complete a formal training program or on-the-job training and pass a national exam in order to become licensed with the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing, State Board of Pharmacy.
"In order to give our students a more tactile learning environment, we have partnered with PioneerRx Pharmacy Software. With the top pharmacy management system, we can emulate the everyday functions and situations that occur everyday in pharmacy. Dixie Technical College Pharmacy Technician Program is a ASHP/ACPE Accredited Program.
