When can I start?  When is the next semester or term?

Dixie Tech is open year round to full and part-time adult and high school students.  Every program has multiple start dates throughout the year.  Check out our programs on the web-site and make an appointment with our academic advisor to learn the next start date of the program that interests you.  Our Drafting & Design program is open entry/open exit, allowing students to enroll as soon as entry level criteria is met.


Do I need a high school diploma to enroll at Dixie Tech?

Adult students must have a high school diploma to enroll in an accredited certificate program.
Secondary students must be on track to graduate before enrolling in a program.


How do I enroll?  Do I need to test?  Is there an application process to start school?

To enroll at Dixie Tech:

• Complete the Dixie Tech Application online here OR 
• Print application here and bring it to Student Services with the $40 Application fee

• Make an appointment to take the CPT test
• Meet with the Academic Advisor
• Complete program specific application requirements


How do I sign up for programs?

Once accepted into a program, registration is easily handled in person at Student Services or online.


What are Dixie Tech’s office hours?

The office hours of Dixie Tech’s main campus are 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm on Friday. Cashiers office is open 8:00 - 5:30 pm, Monday through Thursday and from 8:00 am - 11:30 pm on Friday. 


What is the cost of tuition, fees, and text books?  How often do I pay tuition?

Tuition is generally $2.00 per hour.  Tuition and related fees are calculated by course or program based upon the number of hours.  Your specific tuition bill will be calculated when you meet with the academic advisor or a Student Services staff member.  Tuition and fees are due when your register for a course or program.

Text books and course materials are program specific, information can be found on the web site, from instructors, or from Student Services.

High school students attend Dixie Tech tuition free; however, monthly fees and certain student consumables, such as workbooks, materials for student projects, and testing fees may apply.


What fees do I need to know about?

Admission Fee:  $40.00
Graduation Fee: $40.00
CPT Test Fee:  $15 for all three sections. $10 for single sections (retake only)
Program Specific Fees:  Each program has fees specific to that program.
Lab Fees:  Some courses may have lab fees which will vary based upon the supply needs of the course.


How long will it take to complete my certificate training?

Programs vary in length from 150 hours to 1400 hours.  Programs take from 3 months to 48 months to complete depending on the program.


Does Dixie Tech offer federal financial aid?

Federal Title IV Financial Aid is available for students who meet federal guidelines in the following programs: Auto Tech, CNC Machining, Drafting and Design, Diesel Technology, HVAC Technician, Healthcare Coding Technician, Automation Technician, Information Technology, Manufacturing Operations, Medical Assisting, Digital Media Design, and Pharmacy Technician. Will my credits transfer to another educational institution?

Dixie Tech issues Certificates which communicate skill competencies to a perspective employer. Dixie Tech also has an articulation agreement in place with Dixie State University whereby students who complete a 900 hour or greater Dixie Tech Certificate may receive 30 college credits toward their Associate of Applied Science Degree or their Associate Degree which can then bridge to a Bachelor’s Degree.
