Industrial Automation Technician

Objective:

One of the job skills gaps in America is the lack of employees trained & certified in Industrial & Facilities Maintenance, yet these jobs are good paying and the career path is very strong.  This program is designed to prepare students for highly technical maintenance jobs through a combination of classroom and hands on lab workshop experiences coupled with practical assignments back on the job.  Training focuses on high demand skill sets, building from basic concepts through advanced applications. 

Students will gain knowledge of the following:

  • Broad-spectrum Technician Proficiencies
  • Mechanical Drive Systems
  • Pneumatics & Hydraulics
  • Electrical & Electronic Motor Control Systems
  • Programmable Logic Controllers
  • Robotics & Factory Automation
  • Leadership & Facility Asset Management
The Industrial & Facilities Manitenance certificate is comprised of the following modules. Each module may be an exit point. Completion of the full Capstone Certificate is recommended for meaningful employment.

Steve Carwell, (BSEE), has spent several decades in various executive positions in the areospace, medical devices, industrial products and sporting goods industries. His management experience includes serving as CEO of a publicly traded medical device manufacturer as well as working for 3 Fortune 500 companies. He eventually founded Jadestone Consulting where he worked with client companies throughout the U.S. and abroad. He has a proven track record as CFO, International Business Manager, Director of Sales & Market Development, and Director of Operations with experience in Quality Control, Process Engineering, Project Management, ISO Regulatory Compliance, OSHA & FDA Compliance, Domestic and International Sales, Organizational Development, Technical Manufacturing and Lean Six Sigma Implementation.

Mike Shrout


Mike has a background in automotive, industrial and manufacturing technologies. He is very enthusiastic about innovation and helping students develop the skills they need in their career and to improve their lives and the world around them. He brings experience in CAD Design, CNC Machining, 3D printing and other Manufacturing and Rapid Prototyping methods along with Alternative Energy for vehicles.
