Plumbers who are well trained are able to install safe and efficient plumbing systems, which reduces the spread of disease and improve sanitation. Successful plumbers develop the skills and knowledge they need to carry out a wide range of tasks. As a Plumber Apprentice, you will be working in residential and commercial buildings assembling, installing, and repairing water, drainage and heating systems.
Plumbing Apprentices must register with the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing and complete 8,000 hours of paid on-the-job training as a licensed apprentice as well as complete 720 hours of classroom instruction to take the state Journeyman exam.
Curt has been in the construction trades for 25 plus years. He has experience in framing, concrete, finish work, electrical and HVAC. Curt joins Dixie Technical College as the Director of Construction Technology and is passionate about what he does and is dedicated to helping students succeed.
